About Us

If you visit our shop in person, you’ll see that we’re a high-quality industrial supply store with a Husqvarna dealership (selling things like chainsaws, lawn and garden equipment, and snow blowers). We sell welding equipment and supplies, culverts, and soil erosion materials for construction, oil & gas, logging, mining.

Do you need PPE, safety equipment, protective clothing, or industrial gloves? We’ve got you covered. Northwind Supplies always carries a great selection of the gear you need, plus hand tools like shovels, wrenches, screwdrivers, power drills, grinders, grinder accessories, and drill bits.

We also operate a small engine shop where our mechanic repairs all makes and models of chainsaws and lawnmowers, offers blade sharpening and tune up/repairs of water pumps, generators, and packers (soil compressors/jumping jacks).

More than what we do is who we are. The team at Northwind Supplies is a young (well, we think of ourselves as young), go-getting, eager to learn, and eager to please team. We are here for each customer and are focused on getting you the industrial supplies you need (and we hope you’ll have some fun doing it).

Cory Martens - General Manager

Cory was born and raised in Chetwynd BC and is a member of the Saulteau First Nations.

Although he has moved away a few times, he keeps finding his way back to his hometown. For the past 17 years, his entire adult life, Cory has been working in sales in one form or another.  From small engine repair shops to automotive and commercial transport. He has even spent two years selling hot tubs. He is very excited to take on this new business venture and is very proud to be able to help the community and the surrounding area with an industrial store they need and deserve.

In his free time Cory enjoys playing and listening to music.  He is a drummer by heart, playing in rock and roll bands since the tender age of 15.

Meghan Drolet – Purchasing & Warehouse Lead

Meghan is originally from the central Alberta area, on the other side of the Rockies. She has just recently relocated to Northern BC.

She has spent time working in a wide range of industries including road building, the oil and gas industry, retail, even working in the communications industry where she oversaw the Shaw Communications warehouse located in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

She brings over 7 years of warehousing experience to the North Wind Supplies team. She is excited about this new adventure with North Wind Supplies. In her spare time, Meghan enjoys camping, and nature adventures; as well as gardening and tending to her houseplant collection.

Sean Lavis – IT Support & Sales

Sean comes from an IT background having worked with independently owned shops as well as the provincial health authority.  Sean will be the person who will show our customers how to navigate and purchase on our e-commerce site.

If you ask who Sean is, most people will say “Sean who?”  That is because he is a behind the scenes employee at North Wind Supplies.  If you do not see him, it’s because everything is working the way it should be.

In his free time Sean considers himself a semi-professional grill master and owner of many dad approved cargo shorts.

Shale Anderson - Shipping & Receiving

Shale was born and raised in Chetwynd BC and is a member of the Saulteau First Nations.

He enjoys the outdoors, which includes activities like camping and wildlife/landscape photography.  He also loves the game of golf.

He is excited for this new opportunity and to face this new challenge head on.

Darren Adler – Small Engine Mechanic

Darren has been a small engine mechanic for over 15 years. In the past he has specialized in snowmobiles, ATV’s, UTV’s, outboard marine motors and all other small engines both liquid and air cooled.  He was born in the North and lived in the region his entire life.

His passion is vintage snowmobiles, collecting, repairing, and riding them.

He is very proud to be part of the North Wind Supplies team and is eager to contribute his knowledge to the store as well as providing good customer service and mechanical skills to the community of Chetwynd.
